Mod is an underground cult that, from time to time, rears its head, leaves its mark, and disappears again. But only in plain sight, never from existence. It's been this way for over fifty years. A period of time that accredits it as the longest-running and most influential subculture in history. Originating in London, the 1960s, and the teenage years, it has reached the present day internationally, multigenerationally, and keeps alive all those filias that are obsessions: R&B and soul vinyl, Italian scooters, elegant dress, and nights of dancing that turn into days.

Description

Rave Magazine (UK), August 1966Mod is an underground cult that, from time to time, rears its head, leaves its mark, and disappears again. But only in plain sight, never from existence. It has been this way for over fifty years. A period of time that accredits it as the longest-running and most influential subculture in history. Originating in London, the 1960s, and the teenage years, it has survived to this day internationally, multigenerationally, and keeping alive all those filias that are obsessions: R&B and soul vinyl, Italian scooters, elegant dress, and nights of dancing that turn into days. But mod encompasses much more, having also been built on Nouvelle Vague films, op art works, cult series, forgotten novels, and much more. With over 600 entries and 300 images, this guide offers a fascinating journey through that multifaceted and old world of mods that, from time to time, rears its head and becomes the trend of the moment. Something that, of course, is of little interest to those mods who are always more concerned about the next trip to the tailor, finding that record they can't live without, and planning their next getaway wherever the action is.
